IRSEM organizes the second edition of PARIS DEFENCE YOUNG LEADERS

IRSEM is much honored to host the second session of the Paris Defence Young Leaders program (YL) that will take place from 12 to 16 June.

24
May

The program aims at creating a large international network of young prominent figures in the field of defence and security. In 2022, IRSEM invited 13 candidates from all over Europe. This year, in line with the National Strategic Review, which reasserted the role of France as a “balancing power” in the Indo-Pacific region, the institute invites 13 young promising Asian personalities to take part in this unique experience. All candidates work on security issues (defense, international relations, economics, energy, climate, technological security, etc.).

During their week in Paris, the Young Leaders will take part in high-level meetings with French officials, researchers, and experts. As France reasserts its position in this region, which is home to nearly 2 million French citizens and accounts for 93% of France’s exclusive economic zone, participants will get to know more about France’s strategic priorities. Through debates, roundtables, and field visits, IRSEM aims at creating an environment in which they can engage in discussions, in crossing conceptual and disciplinary boundaries, and in increasing mutual understanding of current issues. Besides, the program is also designed to  foster lasting relations with up-and-coming men and women coming from all over the world.
