Dr. Audrey PLUTA
Chercheure Afrique du Nord
Biographie
Audrey Pluta is a researcher on North Africa at IRSEM. She holds a PhD in political science from IEP Aix-en-Provence (Mesopolhis and IREMAM laboratories) and defended her dissertation in November 2024, titled "The Order of Democracy: Police Unionists and Security 'Reform' Professionals in Tunisia (2011-2021)."
Her dissertation examines the evolving relationship between political power and the security apparatus in Tunisia, focusing on police unionization processes and local adaptations to transnational police reform programs. It highlights how these dynamics contribute to the (re)legitimation, strengthening, and increasing autonomy of the police institution in a context of regime change.
She was a member of the ERC Tarica project from 2017 to 2020 and has taught at the University of Lille, Sciences Po Aix, and the École de l'air in Salon-de-Provence. She is also affiliated with the CERAPS laboratory (University of Lille).
