Biographie
Isabelle Lafargue is a researcher on the Near East at IRSEM. She holds a PhD in political science from the Analysis of the Contemporary Arab World (AMAC) program at Sciences Po Paris. A research fellow at CERI, Sciences Po Paris, and CEDEJ Egypt, her research focuses on the ongoing transformations in the Middle East, particularly the adaptation of Middle Eastern states' defense strategies and policies, as well as their stance towards international competitors. She also studies territorial fragmentation, border security, and foreign military interventions in the region.
After several years in Egypt and Iraq, she worked on security and defense issues in the Near and Middle East at the Delegation for Strategic Affairs and later at the Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy of the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
