Dr. Yaodia SENOU-DUMARTIN
Chercheure "Stratégies, normes et doctrines"
Biographie
Yaodia Sénou-Dumartin has a legal background and completed a Ph.D. in law and economics at the University of Bordeaux, supervised by Professor Hourquebie and Mr. Jean Belin. Her thesis examines the constitution as a possible driver of internal armed conflict. Using an interdisciplinary approach that combines economic analysis (theories and econometrics) with legal analysis, she assigns weight to various constitutional factors in the emergence of armed conflict and proposes an explanation for this relationship. Her doctoral research received thesis awards from AEGES, the Defense and Aerospace Chair, and a special mention from the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Bordeaux.
In 2023-2024, as the recipient of the “Ambassador” fellowship, she held a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Law and Economics (University of Hamburg), focusing on “constitutional vulnerabilities that foster armed conflict.” Her research mainly investigates the impact of law on armed conflict.
An associate researcher with CERCCLE (Center for Comparative Studies on Constitutions, Freedoms, and the State), she is particularly active in public law research. She has published in peer-reviewed journals (such as the Revue française de droit constitutionnel and the Revue française de droit administratif) and frequently presents at conferences. She has also taught constitutional and administrative law at the University of Bordeaux.
