Biographie

Captain Yves Auffret holds a PhD in Political Science from the Université de Rennes 1, and he joined IRSEM in July 2023 as a researcher on issues related to cyberspace. His doctoral research focused on the emergence of information security and its influence on International Relations.

Captain Auffret held the position of teacher-researcher officer at the Ecole de l’air et de l’espace (EAE) for nearly 9 years. Assigned to the school's research center (CREA), he has taught future officers in various fields, including defense policy, French institutions, law, conflict studies, cyberspace, international relations, and wargames. In addition to teaching, supervision, and expertise missions, he led the design of the EAE's Bachelor's degree program and coordinated the "Aerospace power" research theme of the CREA.

He is currently the scientific coordinator of the ANR ASTRID CIGAIA project which focuses on the use of an AI algorithm to analyze controversies related to the war in Ukraine. This interdisciplinary project is in collaboration with the Ecole de l’air et de l’espace and the Université Cote d'Azur.
