Launch of the Military Balance 2017

L’Institut de recherche stratégique de l’Ecole Militaire (IRSEM) et l’International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) ont le plaisir de vous inviter au lancement parisien du volume Military Balance 2017 et de la nouvelle base de données en ligne Military Balance+, qui permet de visualiser, comparer et télécharger instantanément des informations sur les forces, équipements, et budgets de défense de 170 pays.

The Military Balance is the annual assessment of global military capabilities and defence economics published by The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). It provides key defence statistics and data on national military holdings for over 170 countries and analyses trends in defence policy, military capability, procurements and defence economics.
A team from the IISS will visit IRSEM on 9 March to discuss key findings from this year’s edition and global trends in defence policy, capability and defence economics.
The IISS is simultaneously launching the Military Balance+, a new online database that for the first time allows subscribers to build their own queries and instantly view, compare and download our defence data anywhere, anytime. Updated throughout the year, this will transform the IISS’s provision of defence data.
