Biographie

Docteure en géographie politique de l’Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, Clotilde Bômont rejoint l’équipe du domaine « Armement et économie de défense ». Elle travaille principalement sur l’intégration des nouvelles technologies dans les organisations gouvernementales et militaires, et sur les enjeux de « souveraineté numérique » aux niveaux national et européen. Sa thèse de doctorat portait sur la géopolitique du cloud défense français et analysait plus largement les nouvelles formes d’organisation spatiale du pouvoir de l’État à travers la construction d’un objet socio-technique.

Clotilde Bômont est également affiliée au centre de recherche et de formation « GEODE – Géopolitique de la datasphère » (Université Paris 8) depuis 2018. Précédemment, elle a été chercheuse invitée à l’Université de Columbia à New York (2019) et chercheuse associée au Centre de recherche des Écoles de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan (CREC, 2018-2022). Ancienne allocataire de la Direction générale des relations internationales et de la stratégie (DGRIS), Clotilde Bômont a été aussi doctorante associée à l’IRSEM de 2017 à 2020. Elle a enseigné à l’Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, à l’Université Paris 8 et aux Écoles militaires de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan.

Researcher at IRSEM in the "Armament and Defense Economics" team, Clotilde Bômont holds a PhD in political geography from Pantheon-Sorbonne University. She works mainly on the integration of new technologies in government and military organizations, and on "digital sovereignty" issues at national and European level. Her doctoral thesis focused on the geopolitics of the French defense cloud, and analyzed new forms of spatial organization of state power through the construction of a socio-technical object.

Since 2018, Clotilde Bômont has also been affiliated with the "GEODE - Géopolitique de la datasphère" research and training center (Paris 8 University). Previously, she was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in New York (2019) and an associate researcher at the Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan school research center (CREC, 2018-2022). Formerly receiving a research grant from the Directorate general for international relations and strategy (DGRIS), Clotilde Bômont was also an associate doctoral student at IRSEM from 2017 to 2020. She has taught at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, the Paris 8 University and the military schools of Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan (Écoles militaires de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan).
